Try, for instance, http://www.reddit.com/r/watch/  (not all reddit pages have this behaviour).

I'm running the latest version of Conkeror with xulrunner 29.0.

elevator bar?

The scrollbars (if that's what you mean by elevator bar) appear to be disabled by /r/watch since they
don't appear in Chrome.
